Atlantic City Hilton is now ACH

A couple weeks ago I wrote about how Hilton was terminating their franchise agreement with Las Vegas Hilton at the end of the year.

Now news has surfaced that Atlantic City Hilton is facing the same fate. Except they don't even have until the end of the year, and have already re-branded the hotel as "ACH."

If you go to the Atlantic City Hilton website, you will see that the name ACH has replaced most of the Hilton branding.

David McKee wrote a good article about the name change. He speculates that ACH is likely a temporary placeholder name until the property can be sold off to another company.

Carlos'n Charlie's coming to Flamingo

The popular Mexican restaurant and bar chain Carlos'n Charlie's will be opening a location at Flamingo this winter.

The restaurant will be located next to the sportsbook and will feature an outdoor terrace space overlooking the back courtyard area.

I think this will be a nice addition to Flamingo, and should go along well with their other tropical themed restaurant, Margaritaville.

Carlos'n Charlie's is owned by the same company as another premiere Mexican watering hole, SeƱor Frog's, which is also opening a location in Las Vegas later this year at Treasure Island.

CityCenter - Bad News for Eve and Harmon

Two recent bits of news about CityCenter surfaced in the past couple of days.

The stalled Harmon Hotel building has been deemed unsafe in the unlikely event of a major earthquake. The news is further proof that the Harmon likely will never open, and might be disassembled. MGM and Perini Corp. are battling in court over who's to blame for the debacle.

Eva Longoria's Eve Nightclub has closed, at least temporarily. The club at the Crystals shopping complex has faced financial difficulties from day one. Beso, the restaurant attached to the club will remain open.
